Within the last decade, we’ve had at least five deaths at the tide pools - young and old - and a lot of broken bones. We will show you a few pictures from our rescue missions. The rental companies tell their customers daily, that they shouldn’t bring their rental cars out there, but they still do. I want to give thanks to the community, for informing the visitors of the right way to experience the tide pools. But we don’t recommend you go to the tide pools alone if you have never been there before. If you know someone, who is familiar with the place and has gone before, go with them. Instead of paying for the damages, or maybe even ending up in the hospital, come out with us. In the process of driving to the tide pools, you can damage your vehicle, and if it’s a rental car it can get very expensive. We don’t have rescue helicopters on the island, and the ambulances can’t go down there, that is why they call us, to get you. It’s a long process, so if you get stuck or injured it can takes hours before the help can get to you.
